Official Rules
Shopper/Free Press Poker Tour IV - Fall 2008
LEGAL RULES
- No purchase necessary.
- Must be 21 years of age or older to register and play.
- No entry fee or cover charge is permitted during the poker tour.
- Poker tour will commence on week of September 7, 2008 and end on week of October 12, 2008.
HOW TO REGISTER
- Poker tour schedule will be printed and displayed starting August 31, 2008 in the Ellsworth, River Falls, Prescott, Hiawatha Valley, Baldwin Shoppers and Hudson and Hastings Free Press.
- Qualified players must register at any of the participating locations or online at www.shopperfreepress.com.
- Qualified players must show proof of eligibility (Drivers license) when registering.
- All qualified players must check-in with the "Poker Manager" no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of each game.
- If any registered player fails to arrive on time for any game, that player will be disqualified and ineligible to play that game. No exceptions.
GENERAL RULES OF PLAY
- All players will select one (1) table/seat assignment card prior to start.
- Players must find their table and seat immediately following selecting a table/seat assignment card. Players are NOT allowed to exchange seat assignments with other players.
- No smoking is allowed at the tables.
- Standard Vegas Texas Hold'Em rules apply. For more information on these standard rules, visit www.oldvegaschips.com/pokerules.htm.
- Any player (s) cheating or attempting to cheat, stealing chips or acting in an unsportsman like conduct during game play will be disqualified for the duration of the tournament.
- Finalist will be determined by individual tournament wins and points accrued. Eleven tournament winners will be invited to the finals along with the top 19 point leaders for a total of 30 finalist.
- Point standings will be published in the Shopper/Free Press and on www.shopperfreepress.com, on a weekly basis.
- The finals will be held at Kilkarney Hills Golf, River Falls, WI. on October 25, 2008 starting at 7:00pm.
- The grand prize of this tournament will be winner's choice of either a four pack of tickets for the December 28th Minnesota Vikings game at the Metrodome (or) Two (2) Club seats for the December 28th Green Bay Packer game at Lambeau. Ground or airfare transportation not included.
- All winners are responsible for any taxes, surcharges or any other costs incurred from any prize winnings.
- All decisions from the judges, poker manager or tavern (s) are final.
- Employees and immediate family members of Helmer Printing, Inc. - The Shopper/Free Press, their subsidiaries and sponsors are not eligible to play.
- Helmer Printing, Inc. - The Shopper/Free Press is not responsible for lost entry forms or a player's inability to register for this tournament or any "Act of God" circumstance that may prohibit a player's chance of entry, play or winnings.
- Helmer Printing Inc. - The Shopper/Free Press reserves the right to alter these rules at any time without notice.
- Helmer Printing Inc. - The Shopper/Free Press reserves the right to use your likeness, photographs or comments for marketing, promotional and/or advertising purposes without compensation now or ever.
